Our August 9 meeting was the annual picnic held this year at the Country Club Poolside. It really was a gala affair presided over by Mary Clymer, with 130 in attendance. Hats off to her!; when she arrived all was not in readiness, but through her prodding and sweat, by the time most of us arrived, it was simply a great evening. The food was great, and the special peach cobbler by Chef Dato climaxed a feast we all enjoyed. Three special baskets of food (prepared by Susan McFarland and Robin Acton) were given to lucky individuals whose birthday was closest to the dates of special former events. They were awarded to Kim Bloom, Bill Kern, and Ed Nemanic. The clown with balloon figures, and the caricature artist delighted the adults as well as the children. The only sad note was the tears shed by Mark Barnhart when he realized he had to pay for all of this from the treasury! Congratulations, Mary! You did it again!
