OUR WEEKLY MEETING’S PROGRAM
The program today was presented by last year’s Outbound Exchange Student, Kirsten Miller. Kirsten told us about her family and her host family in Javea, Spain. The 17 year old, who will graduate from Greensburg Salem this year, gave us some insight into her yearlong foreign exchange experience. She advised us that in Spain, when their Rotary exchange student is sent out to another country, that family must host an incoming student. Kirsten’s host family had five members. She said that her host mother was very protective. She liked the Spanish cuisine and the Mediterranean Sea coast town of eastern Spain where she lived for the year. The climate was very dry, and when it rained, the schools closed because of all the water. She had a very enjoyable experience and thanked Rotary and the Rotary Club of Greensburg for allowing her to have this experience.
