Flash for 23 January 2018

Our meeting began in the usual way with President Marcy Zajdel leading in the Pledge of Allegiance, God Bless America and our invocation by Chuck Anderson.

Sergeant at Arms Report:
Mark Barnhart reported 33 of our 72 members were in attendance.

Club News:

Foundation Moment with Gene James: According to the Global Polio Eradication Initiative, 2017 saw the fewest cases of polio in history. A total of 17 cases were reported. Most of these cases were in Pakistan and Afghanistan. The number also included outbreaks in Nigeria, Syria and the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Because of the outbreaks early surveillance efforts will be doubled to catch these outbreaks quickly.

Marcy’s Quote of the Week: Someday, everything will make perfect sense. So for now, laugh at the confusion, smile through the tears, and keep reminding yourself that everything happens for a reason.
